Hire Smarter & Faster to Build a Best-in-Class Workforce
As unemployment continues to drop, candidates have additional career options and are more willing to leave their jobs for what appears to be greener pastures.
We recently surveyed over 1,700 professionals to get a glimpse into the mind of the American worker. Of those surveyed, 28 percent of employed persons were either looking for a new job or open to an opportunity elsewhere. Further still, 35 percent of Millennials we surveyed said the same. This exodus of qualified professionals can be expensive—and stressful—for all companies. Successfully hiring and retaining this soon-to-be workforce majority has become a priority for Best-in-Class companies. So, how can you hire and retain a best-in-class workforce?
Smarter and faster #hiring will help you retain top talent. Our white paper will teach you how: http://ajilon.co/2y4MpBu via @ajilon
Arm yourself with the skills to hire smarter. Things like video interviews and panel interviews can help speed up hiring time. But how can companies ensure that quality isn’t compromised during a faster process? Working with a staffing company is the easiest way to make sure that you get the right hire – the first time. By thoroughly vetting candidates, and finding out if your company has the tangibles that will retain the employee in the long run, a recruiter helps facilitate a mutually beneficial arrangement for job seekers and employers alike.
Make sure that you’re offering the right stuff to land top talent. Our survey found that the four most important factors candidates consider when accepting a job offer are the following:
- Opportunities for growth
- Company culture
While Millennials prioritize company culture over flexibility, salary and opportunities for growth remain the top two priorities across all generations until workers approach retirement age.
The average interview process takes about 23 days, with the average total hiring time taking close to 43 days, and that’s disappointing to many candidates. Millennials, specifically, demand more interview feedback, a quicker hiring decision, and a faster onboarding process.
Our survey offers further insight into the importance of speedy hiring. Of the 454 professionals who were open to (or actively looking for) new employment, 90 percent believe that the hiring process should take less than 4 weeks from application to onboarding. This means that the actual onboarding process takes almost two weeks longer than candidates expect.
